Just spent the morning fell running on Saddleworth moor. Driving winds+deep snow+steep climbs=Excellent fitness and endurance workout. With fantastic views, in my opinion this beats running on a treadmill any day. If anyone is interested in doing a bit of fell running and/or fell running, plus an overnight pitch on the moors. For example; Kinder scout, see me during a class. We get to improve our fitness and endurance, orienteering skills, and most of all have fun.
These and other teambuilding events are exclusively for people who train with us at any of our listed venues. Therefore there is no financial cost involved.
Great training session tonight. Trained defences against knife threats. All gave 100% in practising techniques. Finished the class with pressure drills, defenders had eyes closed and reacted/defended instinctively to attacks/threats. This was followed by two attackers with knives attacking one defender. The attackers aim was to stab the defender using any means possible.
I was very impressed with Heather, who is one of our youngest Krav Maga students. She has only been training with us for about three weeks. Her techniques are spot on. A great example for all those who want to learn how to stay safe on the streets.
Another full on session, training push kick techniques and defences against wrist grabs.
Session started with a timed circuit. We then drilled push kick techniques and defences. This was followed by wrist grab defences starting with low level threat defences through to high level threat defences. The class was brought to a close with one on one defence and attack using push kicks. Finishing off with pressure drill on wrist grabs. Got out of Moss Side at 10.15. Looking forward to the next session after the bank holiday break.
Great training session today at BBC Media City, Salford. We covered elbow techniques and chokes. The session was rounded off with a stress drill, whereby the defender had to defend spontaneously against any choke or elbow attack.
Looking forward to next weeks session.
Great session tonight covering arm chokes. We trained some interesting variations on the rear naked choke. For our final drill we practised the techniques learnt, having to defend an unexpected attack under pressure. This was followed by two attackers on one person. Joe and Phil were outstanding in their defensive techniques. Looking forward to the next session in two weeks time.
Excellent training session last night at Moss Side. Training officially runs from 8.00 - 9.30. We always train until 10.00. So much to learn with so little time. Last night we had a great 'consolidation' of techniques drill followed by full contact sparring. The session was finished off with two on one fighting. One assailant armed with a knife the other attacking with hands and feet. Keep up the good work lads :-)
Welcome to my blog. I will be posting useful resources to help keep us safe, inspire us, and improve our training.
